For all you Cabby owners out there, my trunk is wet inside when it rains. not flooding wet but the trunk carpet is soaked and there is water in the wheelwell. the top has no holes in it whatsoever. i have checked everywhere to find out where this leak could be ocming from and i have found nil. i got inside and looked in the back around the bottom of the window frame and its dry and well as all points inside the car. i was gonna put my subs and cd changer back there but now i cant till i solve this problem. does anybody have any clue as to where this may be coming from or if anyone is having a similiar problem? thanks?

I would think that it is from the seal around the rear glass. Not where the seal for the window fits in the top but where the glass window fits into the seal. Just take some clear or black silicone with a small hole and a narrow tip and seal it up. If water is collecting in the spare tire well check and make sure that the hole in the middle on the well isn't plugged or if there isn't a hole make one! Bob.

Also check the seals around the rear lenses. If they are dried/cracked, water will seep in. Check in a hardware store for comparable foam weather seal (keep "joint" on bottom of lens). A temporary fix would be to soak the current seals in silicone (messy) until you replace them.

The rear window seal did that to me. The silicone fixed it but make sure to go around the whole window and don't squeeze the tube too hard. I broke the crimp off the end of mine Luckily I was pretty much done when that happened. If thats not the problem it could be the seal around the "trunk" lid. BTW, I had my clarion factory changer mounted back there and it skipped like crazy. So don't even bother trying to mount it to the package shelf, its too bouncy there. Scott

Grab a flashlight and a helper with a garden hose. Drop the back seat and install yourself in the back seat looking into the trunk.

Hose on!

Good luck,

holes can be away from place where you see water. one thing to check is roof - mine is heat-sealed and has two seals. Folding-unfolding roof they get worn and small cracks had developed (to say, around mid-pillar). Rain get into (under upper level) and between inner levels go to back (because cabby's shape) and finally drips down to trunk. You may feel that rear window is leaking like I did but truth was out...in the roof. Also "ears" or corners with rear-side windows where by time roof detach from body, crack and allow rain into. And finally, one thing I would add - as I have talked to convertible owners (different brands), just few of them are waterproof even when new. So don't exhaust yourself with this problem too much and be ready to do some extra work on it. And ride it hard before it rust down !
