 First Coat: Rustoleum "Nutmeg" |
Digital Pattern, hand-drawn on masking tape. |
Helps if you lay the tape flat before drawing the pattern. Don't use a clipboard- the tape is hard to peel off, and the clipboard will never be the same. |
Tape applied to receiver halves and ready for paint. |

|
A nylon cutting board works MUCH better than a clipboard for cutting. |
Did you know that some gas ovens have electrical heating elements in the top for broiling? I do now! After the paint goes on, the metal parts go in the oven for 5 min. @ 300 to harden the finish. |
The painted receiver. It's not perfect, but it's stealthy! |
The finished (for then) product, with the stock barrel and fabric hopper cover. I ran out of time to do a gas-thru stock before the Michigan Monster Game, so i just ran the remote to the vertical ASA, with a T-fitting for the gauge. |
With the covered Flatline barrel (ran out of gumption to finish the camo paint on the Flatline and hopper, since they got fabric covers anyhow). |
After MMG, I got around to sorting out the fittings for the gas-thru stock and gauge. It's really tight in there, which is why there's lots of fittings and some funky angles. I wanted to put my Palmer Stabilizer regulator in there too, but there wasn't enough room for the one I have. Note the hacked up rubber chairleg pad that will go around the gauge to protect it. |
 Installed. |
SpecOps A-5A2 Tombstone installed: This is what it looks like if you don't use a drill press. |
The finished (for now) product. |
