OK, I imagine you're wondering what the heck a Phædrus is. Basically, he's a charracter from one of Plato's Dialogs, a sophist whose view of the concpts of Quality and Reality differred from Plato's. He's also a charracter from Robert Persig's Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintainance, a book that kinda crystalized my way of of approaching problem solving and looking at life in general.
For a while I used to use Phædrus, which is Latin for "wolf," as my callsign when playing online games or in IRC. The only trouble was that since apparently all ancient greek men were gay, and the Phaedrus dialog is particulary laden with homosexual connotations, I ended up getting a lot of "hot chat" requests that weren't too appetizing
=o)
Anyhow, whenever possible, I try to push this literature on people- hey, at least it's not The Watchtower. The links go to the complete text of Persig's book, as well as to a couple differrent translations of Plato's dialog. I even threw in a nod to Amazon.com, where you can buy your own hard copy or audio tape.
